“Where we’re going we DO need roads!” π #shorts
When astronauts return to the lunar surface they are probably going to be doing more driving than walking β but to keep billowing moondust at bay they are going to need roads. An ESA project reported in todayβs Nature Scientific Reports tested the creation of roadworthy surfaces by melting simulated moondust with a powerful laser.

A great idea! We need this concept to live on the moon. Lasers are the way to make it work.
I don't like lunar regolith. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere.
Wouldn't it make more sense to go for trains first?
Love the "Back to the future" quote in the title! π
Je suis français vous avez le temp de me répondre sinon voici ce qu'il faudrais faire : Send robots to go on the road and then we send the humans it would be possible and next to the others' bases otherwise if there is more to eat we game over
I have a question though what's the stress pressure and weight tolerance
Cool, sounds like a planβοΈ
To infinity and beyond! π€

Great very good if the roads on the lunar surface β€
It's too late for those project to start anyway. Firstly there is no more that ?3 ". Someone took all that elements (for the future green nuclear) already…!!!! Secondly someone was living on the moon for more than 120 earth days with soild evidence. Cheers!
