  1. Outstanding stuff and narration. At first a glimpse of the battle. Then what lead up to it. Then the battle and the consequenses. And it doesn't feel made up because it's history. I think I must make up a story like this myself – based on the formula. Ten minutes. How hard can it be?

  2. To be fair, if he had an autoimmune illness or, heaven's forbid, plague, Charloman would've died. While most people died before they were 10, once you got to adulthood, you could live a long, long time in the middle ages. However, some diseases can manifest in your 20s, like my ulcerative colitis, for example. If I didn't have modern medicine, I could die quite easily if I caught, say, dysentery.
