🚩The Second Battle of Mohács was part of the 1683-1699 Great Turkish War, which pitted the Ottomans against one of the several “Holy Leagues” thrown together over the decades to try to counter them. The Battle of Mohacs was one of the turning points that swung the war in favor of the Habsburgs.

  2. British more intreasted in getting rid of Stuarts, conquering Ireland ie Catholic Ireland, many Scotch/Irish exiles fought for Hapsburgs who ironically were against the French threats of Ottomans were not high on the list of Williamites and their successors even in previous centuries!

  3. In a way this was revenge for the defeat in 1526. It is interesting that Nikola Zrinski burned the bridge in the winter campaign in 1664 and General Leslie in 1685.
