President Obama Speaks with Shuttle, ISS Crews

From the White House Oval Office, President Obama spoke with the four Atlantis astronauts of STS-135, the final space shuttle mission, and the six Expedition 28 residents of the International Space Station. NASA Administrator Charles Bolden joined the president for the call. Commander Chris Ferguson, Pilot Doug Hurley and Mission Specialists Sandy Magnus and Rex Walheim are on a 13-day mission to the ISS and are scheduled to close NASA’s Space Shuttle Program with a landing at the Kennedy Space Center on July 21.

  1. Obama single handedly destroyed NASA ! He killed the nations manned space flight program. We are paying the Russians to taxi cab our astronauts to our own space station. That so called omnipotent Obabama gutted NASA's manned spaceflight program. The ISS belongs to Russia now. Obama could have kept a shuttle or 2 around with maybe a space shot a year to keep all the key players to manned spaceflight trained up and employed and training the new people. Instead because of Obama we as a nation will have to start from scratch for a manned spaceflight program. Thanks Obama .

  2. My high schol produceed NASA astronaut Piers Sellers which was a proud moment for our school. He took up a Elizabethan charter from our school on one of his missions and the news coverage was amazing. I was heartbroken when I learned he hd recently died from cancer.
