NASA’s Floats in Presidential Inaugural Parade

Video of full-size models of the Curiosity Mars rover and Orion, the multi-purpose capsule that will take our astronauts farther into space than ever, as they appeared in the Washington, D.C. parade on Jan. 21. Accompanying the vehicles were members of the Curiosity team from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and current and former astronauts Alvin Drew, Serena Aunon, Kate Rubins, Mike Massimino, Lee Morin and Kjell Lindgren, as well as Leland Melvin, NASA’s associate administrator for Education, and John Grunsfeld, NASA’s associate administrator for Science.

  1. Clearly that's ludicrous! Compared to people here .. a lot of who believe the world was created in 6 days… Jesus Christ actually arose from his grave… yada yada what not… right . a white UNICORN is clearly ridiculous!

  2. OK that was cool, but the 'float' was a flatbed with some fabric on it. And there was that huge sign in front of the rover… scientists don't do public relations all that well. Even the truck, was black, not white… your brand has a color scheme people!

    Rover should have been roving, NASA personal all in white lab coats or NASA blue button down shirt with pocket protector, as a use of the agency's color scheme and playful joke about 'scientists'. And a NASA band, all kazoos and ukuleles.
