  1. There's a valve where your esophagus attaches to the stomach that keeps stomach acid from leaving your stomach most of the time. The big difference for digestion is that when you burp in space, gravity doesn't keep the food at the bottom of your stomach, so burps can be a little wetter than you're accustomed to on earth.
