Will asteroid 2024 YR4 hit the Moon?
On December 22, 2032, a 60-metre asteroid might crash into the Moon. Scientists have been tracking asteroid 2024 YR4, and while we now know that it won’t hit Earth, there’s currently about a 4% chance it could smash into the lunar surface.
If that happens, it’ll be a rare chance to watch a big space rock leave its mark on our cosmic neighbour in real time. But we aren’t just sitting around waiting. We’ve been keeping an eye on lunar impacts for years, and this asteroid is just another reason to pay attention.

Will be funny if it bounced off the moon or hit at enough angle to launch rocks at earth. Well funny might not be the best word.
It better be caught in 4k i tired of imagining how that could happe
Nice ESA
One day I will work for the ESA as an astrophysicist, I know it
The good thing about this is if you want to see what's in the impact area I believe that you could find more about the moon and what hides underneath!
Booooo recalculated trajectory. I was really putting a lot of my hope into this one
