Visualising Rosetta’s descent
Animation visualising Rosetta’s descent to Comet 67P/Churyumov?Gerasimenko on 30 September 2016. The sequence is speeded up to show the relative motion of Rosetta and the rotating comet below.
Rosetta will target a smooth region close to several large pits measuring more than 100 m across and 60 m deep, on the small lobe of the comet.
The impact time is predicted as 11:20 GMT +/- 20 minutes on 30 September.

Farewell, dear friend 🙁
@Mark McCaughrean
Would it be possible to get a model of Rosetta and Philae like the ones your colleague Matt Taylor has on his work station? I miss them so much, I just want to have this pair of historical heroes on my own. They should stay in my life. Just to have this model is like to keep them near my heart.
Aww i wanted to see an exlosion in the end
NEAR Shoemaker? landed on an asteroid and survived for 2 weeks. Rosetta landed on a comet and died instantly.
