J.R.R. Tolkien wrote a short play about the aftermath of this battle, "The Homecoming of Beorhtnoth, Beorhthelm's Son". It's just 13 pages long (plus 3 pages of introduction).
This was such a fantastic video to watch. Being from Maldon myself and researching this battle and time period hasn't given me anywhere near as much insight into this battle as this video did!
