ESA’s EarthCARE satellite lifted off on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, US, on 29 May at 00:20 CEST (28 May, 15:20 local time).

Developed as a cooperation between ESA and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), the Earth Cloud Aerosol and Radiation Explorer satellite carries a set of four instruments to make a range of different measurements that together will shed new light on the role that clouds and aerosols play in regulating Earth’s climate.

  1. It really kills my soul the coldness from SpaceX operators. I understand they have industrialized space launch. But… buddy, really… "liftoff… (meh)… (vehicle supersonic… (meh), MaxQ (meh), "hey dude, should we broadcast supersonic and MaxQ?" "Nah, super boring") … MECO (goes for a machine coffee)… First stage landing confirmed ON A DRONE BARGE AT SEA (scrolling IG on phone), fairing separation (yawns)". Really? Don't you realize what all this means? Do I have to cry in excitement for you? Can't you see it? This is NOT another day at the office, this is SERIOUS HISTORY!
