Space communication got a whole lot cooler! ❄️

In July 2024, our Malargüe station in Argentina completed a super cool upgrade—literally! By chilling its antenna feed to -263°C using cryogenic tech, it can now handle up to 80% more data from missions like Juice and BepiColombo.

With more data, clearer signals, and cutting-edge tech, our ground stations are ready for the future of space exploration.

  1. ESA's intros are on a new level 😂 I'm really stunned for your GAIA and JUICE mission once they are in their phases. Hera is also such a cool one to revisit the impact. I started following ESA during the space shuttle era and saw Swedish astronaut Chirster Fuglesang fly to space and liked the idea. My favourite in the future must be the ExoMars programme to send a rover to the surface of Mars. I don't know what made it delay so much but I can't wait for it! 🎉
