NASA’s Hubble Finds Most Distant Galaxy Candidate Ever Seen in Universe

Astronomers have pushed NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope to its limits by finding what they believe is the most distant, ancient object ever seen in the universe. Its light traveled 13.2 billion years to reach Hubble, roughly 150 million years longer than the previous record holder. The age of the universe is 13.7 billion years. The dim object is a tiny, compact galaxy of blue stars that existed 480 million years after the big bang, only four percent of the universe’s current age. It is so small, more than one hundred similarly-sized mini-galaxies would be needed to make up our Milky Way.

  1. @RufftaMan OK – look at it this way; the light we are seeing now has travelled 13 billion light years. If we are seeing the galaxy as it was 13 Billion years ago, why doesnt it look a lot closer ?!?

I understand wars might have help develop some technology but its mostly things to kill each other with… for example the U.S spends about $18.7 billion dollars on space exploration (NASA's budget for Fiscal Year 2010). That equates to a little over one half of one percent (0.53%) of the total U.S. federal budget of $3.1 Trillion and a $14 Trillion economy…

  3. NASA is making another space telescope? that will dwarf Hubbles telescope it is 7x bigger and made of gold! Its called James Webb Space Telescope and is said to be ready around 2016 its going to cost 5-6 billion. This is going to be the biggest telescope NASA has ever sent into space!

  4. I think it's easier to think of this as a photo taken aprx.13.2 billion years ago. Whatever object or galaxy they now form part of, providing theyve not been sucked down a black hole, would be much closer to us now (however far it has travelled in 13.2 billion years). Presumably then, if we wish to see beyond this, whatever equipment we have, will be useless unless there's a sufficient light source beyond this right? So, if there was more light, wouldnt we see further objects as dots?

  5. What does this discovery mean? Are we truly getting closer to seeing the beginning? Are we peering toward the 'center' of the universe? Once we know how far we are from the 'center' can we then figure out how far we are from the 'edge'? So many questions.

Nobody has seen black hole because light doesn't reflect from it, then we scientists prove black hole by the affect that it produces on other stars and galaxies.Simply no body has seen dark matter, but we prove dark matter by the affect that, it holds the matter together. And such is the case with Pain, we can not measure it but we can feel it and we know that it exist!
    Therefore nobody has seen God but our presence proves that he exist. Even a clock is not made by itself someone has to make it.

  8. I can't stand religious nutjobs who look at this and get angry because it supports the BIG BANG THEORY. At the very least you can say that when God created the universe, what happened? THE BIG BANG!

    I find it to be some of the most beautiful stuff a person can ever witness. The universe is like a living thing!

  9. nasa plz answer me …something about sun… you nasa guys says that at every second on sun hydrogen in converted into helium by some chain reaction.. if so then from where is the sun getting continuously supply of millions and trillions ps of hydrogen gas supply every second from space as its complete vacuum… y u guys fool ppl…?

    When did motion first start ?

    Science knows the formation of matter in our universe was caused by the forces of the

    universe.

    These forces are:

    (1) The Force of Gravity

    (2) The Force of Electro Magnetism

    (3) The Strong Nuclear Force

    (4) The Weak Nuclear Force

    At some point in time, motion within the universe, had to begin.
    The paradox would be, what force could cause motion to begin, without moving in its
    present space-time ?

    The Gravitational Cosmological Theory was
    developed from an is rooted in the Einstein Steady State Theory and the Bondi-Gold-Hoyle Steady State Theory,

    Wherein the Steady State Theory the universe,
    contains more protons than electrons that
    create dust particles and
    galaxies formed in their current locations and the cosmic
    matter is recycled therein at the center of the galaxy furnace.

    Q: When did this motion start?
    A: If a neutral particle is able to resist the universal motion, in theory, that particle
    would go back in time. Going back in time the neutral particle would then enter into (1)
    of the (2) motionless-static gravity vacuum fields void of motion, and cause an unbalance
    and gravitational instability and this interaction would create motion and energy
    particles.
    Q: What causes a gravitational static vacuum field in the first place ?
    A: Pressure force is used to create a vacuum on Earth, perhaps an exotic something
    100,000 times weaker than the force of gravity decays, causing a static-motionless gravity vacuum field.

    Q: What created the motionless gravity vacuum fields in the first place ?

    A: Vacuums are created by pressure so the only answer I can think of is a created gravity vacuum pressure from the future goes back in time to start motion in the past.
