One year after his death, NASA is remembering Apollo 11 commander Neil Armstrong, the first man to set foot on another world.

As part of the tribute, Grammy-nominated artist Eric Brace, with some video assistance from NASA, honors Armstrong with an original composition, “Tranquility Base.”

  1. One of the toughest missions in human history, with the will of God -and a lot of science- it succeeded. Neil was one in several billion. The first of the human race to step onto the surface of a world not our own.

  2. I believe it would be amazing to name the Mars lander after him, so that when I am watching TV with my children as the first humans set foot on another planet I hope to hear "Houston…the Armstrong has landed repeat *static* the Armstrong has landed."

  3. According to Moore's law your "rocket ship" should now be a billion times faster and a billion times smaller, and cheaper to produce! I have an idea too, you could give the "space suit", the one Neil was wearing, indeed all the astronauts suits, and give them to the scientists at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster, as the suits seem perfect to soak up high levels of radiation while keeping the scientist nice and safe!
