🚩 In the late summer of 1632 the army of Swedish King Gustavus Adolphus met Albrecht von Wallenstein near Nürnberg. The earlier successes of Gustavus Adolphus over General Tilly, particularly at Breitenfeld, followed by Tilly’s death during the Battle of Rain, forced Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand II to recall Albrecht von Wallenstein into military service from retirement. Wallenstein was unmatched in his ability to raise troops, and within a few weeks he took to the field with a fresh army.

  1. Brother please Hannibal 😅😅 , please don't make us wait for 2 years just release next episode

By the why this video is great, your videos are addictive because of your narration and presentation

  2. Again what makes Gustavus so great was where he came from and what he had to work with. As a Swede I am far more impressed by this then by the tactical changes etc that he brought on the battlefield. To show that it was possible to compete with the great countries of Europe with what was in essence, at the start of his campaigns, a conscript army. He was no Alexander, no Charles XII, IE he didnt inherit a great army and a state geared for war. This I think, in my mind, combined with his own genius on the battlefield makes him one of the greater generals of history.
