Graffiti Research Lab first introduced us to the awesome throwie idea, and we loved it. Ever since, we?ve been playing around with the idea of using light-emitting diodes (LED) and throwies as a great hands-on method to teaching science. You can do it, too, and we?ll show you how!

LED is a Diote.. Which passes Electricity in one direction.. So we need to join the particular signs (+ or -) with the battery's points. we can easily find it out with the length of LED's points (One is longer than the other)..

LED's have a certain leg for a certain charge. If you look closely at it's legs one is longer and the other is shorter. This is similar to how you put batteries in your XBOX controller or your TV remote. If you put the battery in correctly it works.
Negative and Positive side.
Diodes only allow current to flow in one direction.
Step Up!
It is two different charges like when you have a battery flipped wrong in a remote
if the battery was flipped it would not light up because you have to remember which side is negative and ?which is positive
The battery does tend to get a bit warm doing this though, as it's basically a short circuit and pulling as much juice as the battery can produce.
