Exploring new worlds

As part of Agenda 2025, ESA will take preparatory steps towards a sample return mission from the moons of giant planets, and will foster innovation by challenging commercial companies to develop a next generation of competitively priced European space transportation systems.

Space science and planetary exploration have a unique inspirational power for engaging young generations in science, technology, engineering and maths, creating a highly educated workforce for the future.

Collaborating with the European space industry to foster innovation generates economic growth and new revenues, as well as creating new jobs for European citizens. All the money invested in space is spent on Earth.

  1. Agreed that Europe should embrace more ambitious crew programs. I'd love to see a clip about it which was made by someone who knows what the Orion Service Module is (hint: it's not the part you travel in). I'd also like to see program concepts that involve reusable launch vehicles. Just watch China make some of their own. ESA will be a dinosaur without them. Every piece of hardware in this video is old hat, even Ariane 6, and it hasn't even flown yet.
Bottom line: this was made by the PR department, not the advanced concepts department. Nice idea, but I'm not holding my breath.

  2. Extactement l’ESA dont je rêve. Ambitieuse, autonome, indépendante des États Unis et de la Russie. J’espère que le Space Rider deviendra un véhicule de transport d’astronautes européens ! Bravo à vous, l’Europe peut le faire 😉

  3. I want to be a pilot astronaut too, but I'm good only to watch the events happening. I wish all the best for the ESA. That's a dream job, which only a few people can be a part of. 🙂 I can't wait to see going back to the Moon and going to Mars. <3 Good luck! 😊
