  1. Interesting. It consistent with what available information that aquascape and marine tank hobbyist saying all these years.

Higher temperature + high dissolve rate of co2 cause algae bloom in both fresh and salt water. But coral is sensitive with algae. Algae compete with coral for sunlight and nutrient causing coral to outcompete and rapidly die.

In fresh water, algae has predator. Amano shrimp, and many smaller fish do eat algae. But if we look also in China and India, some rivers and lake have massive algae bloom. Some river turn to pink and deep green. When we look for any sign of life in that river, all other fishes and creature all had been wipe out. When we trace out the source what pollute the river, we found that pollution came from massive factories and industrial place. It is truly horrible. In India, there is river so polluted, it turns to pink. Local drink that water because it taste 'sweet'. But unknown to them, the colour indicate that river is too polluted, only algae survive in that kind of environment.

Thats why we must take care of environment. Because if we dont, something else from Mother Nature will 'take control' from us. We might have upper hand in intellegence. But nature always find its own way.
