π© We're heading back to ancient times with the Battle of Raphia, 217 BC. Syria and Palestine were prime real-estate that ancient powers fought over. In the aftermath of Alexander the Great's death, his empire was carved up by his generals and family. By the late 3rd century BC, Seleucid Empire and Ptolemaic Egypt fought for domination over this region, then known as Coele Syria.
Intressant som vanligt.
Thanks for more on the old world

Antiochus III.
Beaten by Egypt early on.
Has quite a few victories/successes in the middle of his reign.
Gets his ass kicked by Rome near the end of his reign.
Quite an up and down career there.
217 B.C. – during the second Punic war, one year before the battle of Cannae. A really bloody time of the old world…. π€
the only games who cover this period well is Imperator(made by Paradox).
Is this because the Nazi Zionists are planning a genocide in Rafah modern day raphia?
10:48 Ah yes, the small town of Rapha.
1. This isnβt a larger battle than Ipsus 2. Antiochus first campaign never made it as far as Jerusalem they were blocked at the border. 3. You include a nonexistent siege of Damascus (mentioned in no sources) while missing the Jordan-Arabia campaign which is sourced.
