His folly at the very least provided a blueprint to future kings as a warning
happy that there is a sassanid video:
30 min later
I miss the man I was 30 min ago
That story about the double agent is very similar to that of Cyrus´ agent aiding with conquering Babylon in Herodotos. What´s the source of your story?
Great video.
These white Huns are our ancestors, cheers from Mongolia.
I do like Kings and Generals but I prefer the narration of David McCallion here at HistoryMarche.
Any plans on covering the Mithridatic wars?
A minor correction: "Ghassanids" have been mislabeled as "Ghaznavids".
Ok now its khosrows turn to shine, next video must be about him
Peroz: I’m not doing this again just take my son..
The video isn't doing Sukhra/Surkhab justice at all
While it's true that the Sassanids lost the war, Sukhra/Surkhab was promoted to Wuzurg Farmadar (prime minister) before Peroz I final campaign and was the Satrap of Sakastan before that
His political position was important enough to cause very serious problems for Kavad I during his reign
He had become the defacto ruler of the empire after Peroz's death and even gained the support of the nobles who paid the taxes to him instead of Kavad
Without such an important position in court and without a notable victory over the Hephthalites which actually stopped their invasion and raids for decades (unlike what is said in the video), got the Sassanid princess as well as the high priest and the royal treasury back, he couldn't have achieved any of this in the empire even if he'd achieved such a victory as a satrap
Thz
Peroz was Probably the worst Shahanshah of all the sassanid empire
why is it soooo hard for you to mention Afghanistan? Hepthalites were literally Afghans and 99% of their terrority is Afghanistan but you dont mention it
