Alexander Gerst mission wrap-up
ESA astronaut Alexander Gerst is about to return to Earth after spending around six months in orbit. Launched to the International Space Station on 28 May 2014, he has carried out a comprehensive programme of international and European experiments, as well as taking part in a maintenance spacewalk with NASA’s Reid Wiseman. The long-duration mission, named Blue Dot, will end this November when Gerst lands on the Kazakhstan Steppes in a Russian Soyuz module.
Well done Alex!
I have a question, why does alexander wear mouth protection, when unloading the cargo?
Was he sick für the time, or are there any dangers of contamination in the process?
Time runs so quickly.. there must be a black hole near by!
I love that operating a spacecraft 00:38 involves a stick.
ESA astronaut @Alexander Gerst is returning to Earth on Monday 10 November, ending his Blue Dot mission – here's a wrap up of his five and a half month stay on the International Space Station.
