  1. Fascinating, especially to a retired programmer like me. In my youth, Iโ€™d dreamt of jobs like this, or something in the engineering field. Alas, as with the majority of programmers, I wound up working in business systems, making programs that crunched financial numbers. I just have a trivial question not related to the subject: the time for lunch is shown as โ€œ12 a.m.โ€ Is that a European convention? True, both 12 oโ€™clocks are transition times, and can be considered to be part of either preceding or succeeding periods (or of neither). Iโ€™m just more used to the convention where midnight is considered as โ€œa.m.โ€ and noon as โ€œp.m.โ€
