As a Turkish person who likes Ottoman history and thinks higly of Beyazid the Thunder let me say this; comparing Beyazid with Timur is a huge insult to Timur. They are not in the same league. Timure is a genius. Undefeated genius. Ottomans didn't stop exist after this war only because Timur didn't try to end the empire. Still it is remarkable that Ottomans recovered from this. Main reason for that is the instutions of empire which adopted from Persians and Romans.
A masterfully fought battle, by both sides.
Why didnt the serbians retreat and leave the ottomans exposed?
